Rayagada(PR),Dt.10/7; Utkal Alumina, a unit of Hindalco Industries under the Aditya Birla Group, has received the prestigious 5-Star Rating Award for its Baphlimali Mines. This recognition was given during the annual programme of the Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM) held in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The award was presented by the Union Minister of Coal and Mines, Shri G. Kishan Reddy, as the Chief Guest. Vijay Chauhan, Head of Baphlimali Mines, Shri K.C. Jyotishi, Chief Geology, and other senior officials from Hindalco Industries were also present to receive the Award.
Baphlimali bauxite Mines received this honour for its outstanding performance in scientific mining practices, environmental protection, and social responsibility in the local areas during the year 2023–24. The mine has demonstrated commitment in responsible raw material extraction and transportation while following scientific process.
On this occasion, Vijay Chauhan, Head of Baphlimali Mines, said that the award would further motivate the employees to work with greater commitment towards environmental and social well-being. He also expressed the teams ambition to achieve the 7-Star Rating Award next year by meeting all required standards.
In addition to Baphlimali bauxite mines, Hindalco Industries Bhushar and Samri mines have also received the 5-Star Rating, highlighting the companies dedication to environmentally and socially responsible mining by adhering to all safety and sustainability norms.
