Balangir(By Tej Raj Mishra, PRO),With the aim of spreading awareness about environmental protection, a tree plantation drive was started on 07/07/2025 at village Mirdhapali Balangir under the guidance of Shri Prashant Kumar Sahu, Commandant 189 Battalion CRPF and in the dignified presence of Shri Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Deputy Chief Minister, Government of Odisha along with school children and officers and personnel of 189 Battalion. This initiative is an important step towards promoting a greener future.
In this campaign, various types of shady and fruit trees like jamun, jackfruit, neem, amla, var, peepal etc. were planted. On this important occasion, Shri Mrinal Kanti Vishwas, Second Command Officer and Shri Sarwar Khan, Deputy Commandant 189 Battalion CRPF while addressing the people said that in todays era, to keep the environment clean, it is necessary for every person to plant at least 05 trees every year for the future of the coming generations, so that a legacy of green and clean environment can be created. The theme of this years tree plantation is Ek Ped Maaon Ke Naam. In this tree plantation program, about 96 personnel from 189 Battalion CRPF participated and planted 500 trees.
