Rayagada(PR), Dated on 22.05.2026, Sri Malaya Kumar Nayak, Asst. Engineer, RWSS, Kolnara Block, Rayagada, has been arrested by Odisha Vigilance and is being forwarded to the Honble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Berhampur for possession of disproportionate assets (DA) to the tune of 101% of his known sources of income, which he could not account for satisfactorily. In this connection, Berhampur Vigilance PS Case No.05 dated 22.05.2026 was registered against Sri Malaya Kumar Nayak, Asst. Engineer and his spouse U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b)/12 PC Amendment Act, 2018, During house searches of the following movable and immovable assets worth crores were unearthed in the name of Sri Malaya Kumar Nayak, Asst. Engineer and his family members; 1) One triple storeyed building with area approx 4000 Sqft. at Soundarya Nagar, Lochapada, Berhampur. 2) One triple storeyed building at Tholanda Badadanda Sahi, Jagannath Prashad, Ganjam. 3) 4 high value plots (3 in Berhampur & 1 in Bhanja Nagar town). 4) Gold jewellery 351.14 gms. 5) Bank & Postal deposits worth Rs. 26,99,952 Lakhs. 6) 1 four wheeler (Maruti Baleno) & 2 two wheelers. 7) Household articles worth around Rs.8.56 Lakhs. After thorough search, inventory and further enquiry, the income, expenditure and assets of Sri Malaya Kumar Nayak, Asst. Engineer, RWSS, Kolnara Block, Rayagada were calculated and he was found in possession of disproportionate assets which were 101% in excess of his known sources of income. The team of Vigilance searches on 21st May 2026, in 7 places at a time, Investigation of the case is in progress.
